1963/1964 Hawaii Hotel Talks
JANUARY 20, 1963 THE INDIVIDUAL UNDER GOD
1. All danger is in proportion to our acceptance of two powers.
JANUARY 27, 1963 PURE CONSCIOUSNESS
1. The principle that is magnified so much in The Infinite Way is the principle that there is neither good nor evil but thinking makes it so.
2. The only power there 'is', is Being.
3. Eventually we come into an awareness that our consciousness determines the nature of our life.
4. Pure Consciousness is that of which we are composed, and the states of consciousness are superimposed by the beliefs of the world.
FEBRUARY 3, 1963 AS YE SOW
1. Every problem that comes to you or me represents some degree of our inability to be under the law of Consciousness.
2. Every problem is based on a law of cause and effect, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap".
3. Consciousness is the only power and nothing operating outside of consciousness can affect us.
4. The power is our realization of the powerlessness of the appearance.
FEBRUARY 10, 1963. BESIDE GOD THERE IS NO OTHER
1. Everything takes place in consciousness, not what you do externally.
2. There is only One - you are never using one power over another, nor are you protecting yourself from a power.
3. Your protection is the realization of your Self as the only power.
4. The illusory concept is always in the mind; there is no such thing as an externalized illusion.
5. Sin and lack don't go anywhere, you have merely proven they were not there.
6. "Resist not evil". This statement alone would be enough to transform your life.
FEBRUARY 17, 1963 GOD CONSTITUTES MY CONSCIOUSNESS
1. You cannot meet a problem on the level of a problem.
2. We find our health in consciousness.
3. We have to make the transition from looking for our supply in our bank accounts, looking to our body for our health or to human beings for our happiness, and realize that wholeness and completeness in every department of our lives is embodied in our individual consciousness.
4. All of this universe is embodied in my Consciousness.
FEBRUARY 24, 1963 SELF-SURRENDER
1. I must be a beholder and Watch.
MARCH 9, 1963 RELATIONSHIP OF ONENESS 1
1. I am in Consciousness and Consciousness is in me and we are one.
MARCH 10, 1963 RELATIONSHIP OF ONENESS 2
1. When you realize your relationship to Consciousness, and that you do not have to take anxious or fearful thought - you have to consciously bestow that peace in all who come into range of your consciousness.
2. By silently knowing, you prepare the way for others to know. Abide with it silently, secretly, sacredly. Let it demonstrate itself, and then all those who are ready for the spiritual revelation will be drawn to you and you can share it.
MARCH 17, 1963 THE TREE OF LIFE
1. The only tie I have to anyone, and the only bond there is between me and anyone else, is the bond that has arisen because all of us are one with the source.
2. I am one with my Source and therefore, by opening consciousness, Light can come through.
3. You do not live by any effect, you do not live by any outer things.
MARCH 24, 1963 THE INNER LIFE
1. Your only desire must be to let Consciousness live your life as your individual experience.
2. Exercise: Realize, "Consciousness lives my life".
3. The only form of dying daily is watching that word 'I'.
4. Exercise: "Let us go until Monday without thinking of the word 'I'".
5. By letting the Word occupy more and more of your attention, you let the personal sense of I die.
MARCH 31, 1963 'MY' CONSCIOUSNESS
1. My Consciousness knows all about me and all about my needs.
2. Consciousness functioned in pre-existence to see to it that you were born.
3. • 'My' Consciousness is omnipresence, I, omniscience.
• As long as there is a sense of Joel as a separate self, he may look to his consciousness.
4. We let nothingness become nothingness.
5. My Consciousness is the law and activity of my being, and I need look to nothing else.
6. What I 'am' - that is what eventually comes forth into expression. Therefore, be still.
7. Nothing is flowing through but love, and love is life so nothing is flowing through us but life.
8. Be at peace with your consciousness and you will be at peace with everyone and everything in the world.
APRIL 7, 1963 HEALING: TO KNOW GOD ARIGHT
1. • Love is the consciousness out of which this entire universe is formed.
• Man is the emanation of Consciousness.
2. The Truth is not dependent on what man does; it is dependent on man's awareness.
APRIL 21, 1963 RESTING IN CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Abide in Me. Rest in receptivity.
2. Appearances are erroneous, whether they are good appearances or evil appearances, because the only reality is the 'I' that 'I' am.
3. You are living in the 'I' and as the 'I', that 'I' am.
APRIL 28, 1963 THE UNFOLDING MESSAGE: SPIRITUAL POWER
1. The only power there is, is the power of your own consciousness.
2. What good is it to try to change outer conditions? No, change consciousness first, and then the harmonious conditions will follow.
MAY 5, 1963 THE WORD BECOMES FLESH
1. The healing grace cannot operate unless one has lost the sense of self.
2. Consciousness does not send the outer good. Consciousness appears 'as' the good.
3. • All error of any nature has it's origin in the carnal mind or mortal mind.
• Carnal mind or mortal mind is not really a mind, but a universal belief in two powers.
4. Your attained consciousness becomes the law of those within your consciousness.
MAY 12, 1963 WE ARE GUESTS OF LIFE
1. The answer is individually rising above the good and bad humanhood to the realization of spiritual identity.
2. Individually we must come to the realization that we are on Earth as guests of life.
3. The object of this work is not trying to improve ourselves humanly in any way.
MAY 18, 1963 THE WORD BECOMES FLESH: SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY
WE ARE CONTEMPLATIVES
1. Do not allow patients to fool you when there is no change in the physical. That wasn't your function to begin with. Your function is to bring the seekers into an awareness of Consciousness within.
2. We are a witness and a transparency - a pane of glass through which the sun shines.
3. Your consciousness is not a wielder of the power, but a transparency through which the power can function.
MAY 29, 1963 AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME
1. • Freedom is not of man - man cannot create freedom.
• Freedom must be received in consciousness.
• Freedom is to be recognized.
2. If I keep my vision on the divine source of my being, then "no weapon that is formed against me can prosper".
3. Recognize that 'that' which is within you is greater than all that is in the outer world, rendering null and void the weapons of this world.
MAY 26, 1963 SPIRITUAL LOVE
1. The healing consciousness is the one that is purged of the belief in the reality of all appearances and abides in the centre of Being.
2. Spiritual power is not an overcoming power - it is a uniting power.
JUNE 9, 1963 CHRIST: THE UNFOLDMENT FROM WITHIN
1. The consciousness of man is the invisible which is the substance and law of everything external.
2. The fullness of allness is within me.
3. Infinite individual consciousness is life eternal, without any opposites.
4. My Self is the same of all form, the essence of all outer being.
5. You are the Word, the Word made flesh, the infinite made visibly manifest.
JUNE 16, 1963 I - THAT IS ALL
1. The only power can be spiritual power - not material or mental power.
2. If you were seeking a power to overcome material and mental powers you would be seeking amiss because there are no such powers.
3. Be not afraid, it is I - the only Presence, the only power in the midst of you.
JUNE 23, 1963 THE SOURCE
1. If you want to contact the source, you must contact it within yourself.
2. You were not born to be subjected to anything or anyone.
3. All cause is within your consciousness, and therefore all effect comes forth from you.
JUNE 30, 1963 DISCOVERING THE SOUL
1. The goal is releasing the Soul from the tomb of human existence, more especially the tomb of the human mind.
JULY 7, 1963 MEDITATION IS THE KEY
1. Here I am with the outside world shut out, ready to commune with my very own Soul, that my Soul may impart to me it's wisdom, it's life, it's love, it's truth.
2. Your Soul becomes the invisible Presence that takes the form of your outer life.
3. Everything that man will ever need will flow forth from his Soul.
4. Exercise: Rest in 'Me' - rest back in your Soul.
5. Competition is a man-created activity, and there will be no room for competition or jealousy when we realize that the issues of life are determined by the activity that is going in within the Soul.
6. You must be a beholder, as if you were watching Consciousness appear.
JULY 14, 1963 REMOVING THE VEIL
1. See with spiritual eyes.
2. This 'I' that is within you was there before you had a form. It sent you forth into expression.
JULY 27, 1963 NOTHING CAN BE ADDED
1. I shall not fear what mortal mind can do to me, what mortal conditions can do. There is no power out there - none whatsoever.
2. There is no power external to you that will benefit you or that can harm you.
3. Nothing out here, nobody out here, has any power over me.
JULY 28 ABOVE KARMIC LAW: PRINCIPLES TO LIVE BY
1. There is no karmic law except what men bind upon themselves by accepting.
2. You must eliminate the word 'I' from your life and in whatever degree you succeed, in that degree will you know successful and joyous living.
AUGUST 4, 1963 BECOMING THE "NEW MAN"
1. • In any moment that grace is your sufficiency.
• Do not seek enough to make your whole life's demonstration at once.
2. What we surrender, we have; what we hold in the grasp of possession, we lose.
AUGUST 5, 1963 THE NATURE OF SPIRITUAL PRAYER
1. You must first of all recognize that all power, infinite power, resides within your individual consciousness.
2. Your prayer, meditation, or treatment is the same in the meeting of your personal problems as it is nationwide or worldwide.
AUGUST 11, 1963 LESSONS ON GRACE
1. Nothing can happen in your experience except through your consciousness.
2. The secret is acknowledgement.
3. Your recognition of the Presence opens your consciousness for it to function.
AUGUST 16, 1963 ONE WITH GOD: PRAYING FOR THE WORLD
1. One thing and one thing alone can save your individual life and that is the activity of the Light in your Consciousness.
2. When you can perceive that the carnal mind is non-power in the realization of the presence of Light, you are helping nullify it for the rest of the world.
AUGUST 17, 1963 IT IS 'I': NULLIFYING THE CARNAL MIND
1. Realize that the carnal mind is operating but impersonalize it.
2. Error is not power in the presence of illumined consciousness.
AUGUST 24, 1963 HIDDEN MANNA - THE REAL INFINITE WAY
1. Your treatment is not going to help anyone until you reach that place of stillness where you receive a response from within.
2. • When you are in this "deep pool of contentment", quiet, peace, the spirit moves and imparts itself to you.
• It may be in words, or in a deep breath, or in a feeling.
3. Temporal power is not power in the presence of the spirit.
4. Temporal power is dissolved as darkness is dissolved in the presence of light.
AUGUST 31, 1963 GROWING DAY BY DAY - ATTAINING THE TRANSCENDENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Turn within and 'let' the divine consciousness within you reveal it's harmonies and it's grace.
2. The Word is something that emanates from your consciousness to your conscious awareness.
3. 'I' within you give you peace and joy and dominion as long as you look only unto 'Me' - and then let it unfold.
4. • Your Soul overshadows you as you sit or walk or sleep.
• Relax in it - without words and without thoughts.
SEPTEMBER 2, 1963 PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS MAN: GOD IS
1. When an inner stillness has been attained, the presence and power of consciousness is released.
2. Where the presence of Light is realized there is no darkness.
3. Be Empty!
SEPTEMBER 7, 1963 OUR GOAL: THAT MIND WHICH WAS ALSO IN CHRIST JESUS
1. Let no Infinite Way student believe that the call to 'Leave your nets' is an excuse to desert or neglect one's duties or obligations.
2. Anyone who can attune himself to this transcendental 'I' finds himself under grace.
SEPTEMBER 14, 1963 THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD CONSCIOUSNESS
1. The consciousness of 'one' becomes in some measure the consciousness of all in the degree of their receptivity.
2. Every time you meditate, you have no idea where that conscious union was picked up and what it's ultimate affect will be.
3. The only way in which spiritual healing can take place is by Beholding the Light in that individual.
4. It is a state of consciousness which must be lived twenty-four hours a day.
5. Every Infinite Way student should have this as his goal, to accept the responsibility to die daily to material sense and be reborn of spiritual consciousness - and that means to bless the world that comes into your consciousness.
6. You cannot realize the realm of Consciousness except through silence.
7. The Infinite Way is not a message, it is an experience.
8. Exercise: Is there anything to me except conscious awareness?
9. As the infinite divine consciousness is released through an individual, it permeates the whole atmosphere.
SEPTEMBER 21, 1963 THE ADJUSTMENT MUST BE MADE WITHIN YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS - A LESSON IN SECRECY
1. The whole of your life is locked up in 'I' and minute by minute it is unfolding.
2. Consciousness is your real identity and the consciousness that you are right now has your life, your health, your success, your protection, your everything within you.
SEPTEMBER 28, 1963 TWO COVENANTS
1. In the silence, consciousness is filled with the spirit, and the spirit is the substance of all form.
2. Exercise: Get into the rhythm of being a beholder.
SEPTEMBER 29, 1963 SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT
1. All power is in the infinite invisible within you, here where you are.
SEPTEMBER 30, 1963 AN ETERNAL RELATIONSHIP
1. Since I am consciousness, I embody in my Consciousness all that belongs to me, and since there is no such thing as time or space, this all happens 'now' and this all happens 'here' where I am.
2. Open your consciousness and realize that I do not exist in time or space.
3. What is necessary is the realization that we exist as and in and of Consciousness, and in Consciousness we are one.
4. You exist as consciousness and you can admit into your consciousness or drop from your consciousness whomever you wish.
5. Exercise: Realize, I have no physical relationship. Therefore my relationship is one of Consciousness.
6. That which I am seeking I already am.
7. Realize you are 'I', or Conscoiusness, and that 'I' goes on and goes on and goes on and becomes the next form of which "I' may appear.
JANUARY 1, 1964 SILENCE! STILLNESS! QUIETNESS!
1. By taking no thought for things and by centring your whole attention on this Oneness with your Source, what happens to the world of things makes no difference because even the lost years of the locust will be restored.
JANUARY 10, 1964 THREE LOST SECRETS
1. The Invisible within is always at the centre of your being, knocking at the door of your consciousness, and it is only when you close your eyes to the outer world and turn within that you are opening the door of your consciousness to admit the Invisible.
2. The kingdom of infinity is at the centre if your being and, as you commune with it, it pours abundantly and your function is to pass it on.
JANUARY 19, 1964 COMMUNICATION OF ONENESS
1. Omniscience is operating on a worldwide basis, omnipresent and omnipotently, but the world is not receiving it because it has the barrier of the human mind which is taking thought.
FEBRUARY 2, 1964 REALIZING THE NON-POWER OF APPEARANCES
1. When you are facing a situation and withdraw emotion long enough to realize the impersonal nature of the appearance, you immediately begin to dispel it.
2. He then revealed that none of this happened externally. It all happened in mind; it was his own mind warring against his spiritual nature.
3. It is just an activity of your own mind being externalized in your experience - but it is not being externalized 'out there'.
4. If you are impersonalizing, then you have nothing to accomplish. You can only 'be'.
FEBRUARY 7, 1964 BEYOND METAPHYSICS - 'I AM'
1. In silence the light that 'I Am' shines.
2. You have only to live in the inner communion so that the will of the 'I that I Am' can be performed through you.
3. The Infinite Way reveals that thought is not power. Then why take thought?
4. Be a beholder of your life as it unfolds.
FEBRUARY 9, 1964 CHRIST COMING INTO ASCENDANCY
1. Now you are going to be nothing and you are going to let the spirit be everything functioning through you.
FEBRUARY 15, 1964 INTO THE MYSTICAL CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Illumination consists of spiritual discernment that sees through the appearance and sees omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence.
2. Spiritual power is recognition.
FEBRUARY 16, 1964 YOUR DOOR TO INFINITY
1. Recognize that your consciousness is the door to the infinity in which you are living.
MARCH 22, 1964 THE BREAD YOU CAST ON THE WATERS
1. Whatever you are looking for in life, surrender it, because it is a barrier to the major attainment.
MARCH 29, 1964 FREEDOM IS AN ACTIVITY WITHIN YOUR OWN CONSCIOUSNESS
1. Therefore, Consciousness must be the substance of the waves, not only of Consciousness but 'My' Consciousness, since there is no other.
2. In facing the temptation that there is an external power, go back instantly and realize that consciousness is the basic substance, cause and law of all creation.
APRIL 12, 1964 I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE
1. There are not actually two worlds. There is only one, the world of Consciousness or spirit, but there is a false sense of that world which you entertain - a world of material sense.
2. Exercise: 'I' am not in this body, but there is an 'I' separate and apart from body which is the owner of this body - and therefore the body in and of itself is nothing. 'I' am the law unto it.
3. It is only when you go beyond the mind that you are in the real world.
4. Exercise: Realize, In this invisible 'I' that I am is embodied my life and everything needful that pertains to that life. I do not have to go anywhere for it, because it is already 'embodied' in the 'I' that I Am.
APRIL 26, 1964 ACCESS TO INFINITY
1. The whole secret of spiritual life is to know that you have access to infinity through your own Consciousness and then go within sufficiently often to let the flow appear.
